Masayuki Ono Title Head of PPPL RF Division Email [email protected] Bio/Description Dr. Masayuki Ono received his B. Sc. in Physics from California Institute of Technology in 1973, and Ph.D. in Plasma Physics from Princeton University in 1978. He joined as a research staff at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) at Princeton University in 1978. Since 1978, he led a number of research project teams including ACT-1 (Advanced Concept Torus), CDX (Current Drive Experiment), CDX-U (Current Drive Experiment - Upgrade), and NSTX (National Spherical Torus Experiment). He was appointed to the Laboratory Distinguished Research Fellow in 1995 and he is an APS Fellow since 1992. In 1999, he received Kaul Foundation Prize for his work on the National Spherical Torun Experiment (NSTX) facility. Since 2018, he is serving as a head of the RF Physics Division at PPPL. He has also served as a faculty member of the Princeton University Astrophysical Science Program and taught Plasma Waves and other plasma courses.. He has supervised and graduated eleven Ph.D. thesis students. Dr. Ono is the author of more than 250 refereed scientific papers.
