Kirill Lezhnin

Title
Associate Research Physicist
Bio/Description

Kirill Lezhnin is the Associate Research Physicist at the Department of Discovery Plasma Science. He works on the numerical modeling of laser-plasma experiments. His primary project is to simulate plasmas in extreme ultraviolet (EUV) sources utilized in EUV lithography, optimizing their performance. Kirill also works on the simulations of laser ion acceleration for fast ignition in inertial fusion, laboratory astrophysics experiments on magnetized collisionless shocks, and magnetized liner inertial fusion (MagLIF) to support the design and diagnostics of the respective experimental campaigns. Kirill earned his doctoral degree from the Program in Plasma Physics at Princeton University in 2022 and bachelor's and master's degrees from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 2014 and 2016.
