Jongsoo Yoo is a research physicist at PPPL. He joined PPPL in 2013, right after he received his Ph.D from Princeton University. He is a laboratory experimentalist working on self-organization processes in plasma such as magnetic reconnection. His current focus is to develop diagnostics for the upcoming user facility, Facility for Laboratory Reconnection Experiments (FLARE). In addition, he also studies wave-particle interactions using data from laboratory experiments and space missions such as Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS). He is also interested in magnetic fusion research, conducting collaborative research on KSTAR in Korea. He also serves as a deputy head of the Discovery Plasma Science (DPS) department.
