Ben is a graduate student working under Prof. Amitava Bhattacharjee on instabilities and turbulence in dusty plasmas. His work connects phenomena seen in laboratory plasmas to ongoing research in astrophysics. He first came to PPPL in the summers of 2015 and 2016, as an undergraduate intern performing numerical modelling of stellarator magnetic fields. Beyond his primary project concerning resonant instabilities in dusty plasmas, his doctoral studies have included research on the topology of magnetic fields and on using magnetic fields to improve the efficiency of photolithography systems.
