COLLOQUIUM: Superintelligence, Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), and Existential Risk
In this talk I focus on the development of artificial general intelligence (AGI) and superintelligence, emphasizing the “control problem” and other risks posed by the development of these technologies. Of special interest are issues in cognitive science and philosophy of mind, such as whether AI can be conscious, and what resources are available in cognitive science to understand the computations of a superintelligence.
