Tokamak Energy and the high field spherical tokamak path to commercial fusion
Tokamak Energy is a privately funded company who are developing efficient and compact fusion reactors by combining two emerging technologies: spherical tokamaks (STs) and magnets made from high temperature superconductors (HTS). This talk will introduce Tokamak Energy’s approach, give an overview our recent activities and present latest results from the ST40 compact high field spherical tokamak, which recently achieved fusion relevant ion temperature in excess of 100MK, the highest temperature ever achieved in a spherical tokamak or tokamak of comparable size.
