Engineer Spotlight: Cate Biava, mechanical design engineer

Cate Biava, mechanical design engineer at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL), finds inspiration in the Lab’s mission as a leader in the science and engineering behind the development of fusion — a clean, safe, and virtually limitless source of energy. As part of the team working on ITER, a multinational facility under assembly in France to study plasma that can heat itself and sustain its own fusion reactions, she enjoys working on a research-based project and credits support in college as helping propel her to where she is today.
