Bio

I grew up in western Washington state, on an acre of green trees and grass (sometimes it was actually moss), with my parents, three siblings, lots of dogs, cats, guinea pigs, fish, and a gecko. Now, I live with my cat, Faraday, and fish, Sonne.

Hobbies

  • Running: A fairly recent pursuit, running has become a great passion. In 2008, I ran my first 5k. In 2009, I ran a 10k and a half-marathon. In 2010, I ran my first marathon. Goals for 2010: run a sub-5-hour marathon and a 2-hour half-marathon.

  • Dancing: I love to swing, salsa, middle eastern dance...dance of almost any kind really!

  • Knitting: I enjoy knitting scarves, hats, socks, stuffed animals, and anything smaller than a sweater.

  • Coffee: I love coffee.

  • Piano: I used to be an accomplished pianist, and now enjoy playing for myself and family. The shining moment in my career as a concert pianist was June 2002, when I won a Kitsap County recital competition and performed in a Student Honors Recital at the Washington State Music Teachers' Association annual conference.
