Dr. Guoyong Fu is a Principal Research Physicist in the Theory Department. He received B.S. in physics from University of Science and Technology of China in 1983, and his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Texas at Austin. In 1998, he received the Kaul Foundation Prize for
Excellence in Plasma Physics Research and Technology Development. He is a Fellow of the Americal Physical Society (APS). He has authored over 100 publications in refereed journals. He is currently active in studies of interaction between energetic particles and Shear Alfven waves in tokamak plasmas using kinetic-MHD hybrid simulations.
