Mechanical Technician - CASUAL HOURLY

Job Opportunities - Machinist, Machine Technician, Welder

The Machine Technician will support ongoing technical activities including operation of diagnostic systems, routine machine maintenance, and experimental facilities upgrades. The technician may also support the decommissioning of experimental devices or facilities. Overtime and work on second or third shift is sometimes required.

The ability to use various tools and equipment necessary to perform duties, including shear, brake, strippit, iron works machine, rollers, lathe, milling machine, drill press, saws, torches, soldering and welding equipment, fabricating machines, plasma air & gas torches.

The ability to use computers, read schematics, read technical documents and pass relevant technical training in a variety of subjects is required. This work involves climbing ladders, lifting 50lbs, working in awkward positions and requires full mechanical dexterity.

Qualifications include: High school diploma or equivalent and mechanical experience is required. Experience with mechanical, industrial or electromechanical systems operations and maintenance.

Associate's Degree in a technical field, military experience or equivalent is beneficial.
