Linux C++ Software Developer
The U.S. Department of Energy’s Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory is a collaborative national center for fusion energy research. The laboratory is seeking an entry level Software Engineer. The successful candidate will primarily work on Linux-based real-time integrated plasma control but will also work with other scientific applications such as EPICS, MDSplus, and Eclipse. The candidate will work with engineering, physics, and IT staff to design and implement control algorithms. The position presents a range of software and systems engineering challenges such as Linux administration, C/C++ programming, code and library building, user interface design, inter-process communication, and computer I/O.
Essential Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering with 2-4 years experience developing software in a Linux environment. The candidate must be proficient in C++, Linux build environments, and producing software documentation. The candidate must be highly self-motivated to independently develop an understanding of large and specialized codes.
