Energy
Citations Database
The DOE Energy Citations Database (ECD) was designed and developed
by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Scientific and Technical
Information (OSTI) with the DOE community in mind. The DOE ECD contains
current and past bibliographic records for energy and energy-related
scientific and technical information, including records from Nuclear Science
Abstracts (NSA) and the Energy Science and Technology Database (EDB). The
information is provided by the U.S. Department of Energy, its predecessor
agencies (the Atomic Energy Commission and the Energy Research & Development
Administration), its contractors, other government agencies, professional
societies, and through international agreements. The time span of the bibliographic
records is from 1948 – present, with continued growth through regular updates.

NRL
Plasma Formulary NRL/PU/6790-94-265 (2000 edition)
The NRL (Naval Reserach Laboratory) Plasma Formulary has been the mini-Bible
of plasma physicists for the past 20 years. It is an eclectic compilation
of mathematical and scientific formulas, and contains physical parameters
pertinent to a variety of plasma regimes, ranging from laboratory devices
to astrophysical objects.
The formulary and its components are available in Postscript, PDF,
and TeX formats.

DOE R&D Project Summaries
Internet Web site contains current information on over 14,000 Department
of Energy R&D projects currently ongoing within the DOE from 1995 forward.
OpenNet
Contains recently declassified full-text documents about early nuclear
weapon testing, human radiation experiments, and health and environmental
safety issues.
DOE R&D Accomplishments
Database
Provides a central forum for information about the outcome of past
DOE R&D that has had significant economic impact, improved people's
lives, or been widely recognized as a remarkable advance in science.
Energy Science and Technology Software
Center (ESTSC)
Serves as a repository for and the source from which to purchase software
funded by DOE. The center's inventory is contained in a searchable database
to help locate software of interest.
Subject Portals
Subject Portals are subject-specific Web sites providing full-text
DOE scientific and technical reports, journal literature, and other information
contained in databases pertaining to photovoltaics, geothermal energy,
hydrogen energy, superconductivity, heavy vehicle technologies, wind energy,
biopower, environmental management, biofuels, and solar power.
NDS Atomic and Molecular Data Unit
operates within the Nuclear Data
Section of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna, Austria. "The primary objective of the Atomic and Molecular Data Unit is to establish
and maintain internationally recommended numerical databases on atomic
and molecular collision and radiative processes, atomic and molecular structure
characteristics, particle-solid surface interaction processes and physico-chemical
and thermo-mechanical material properties for use in fusion energy research
and other plasma science and technology applications."
DOE Technical
Standards
Vision: By the year 2000, the culture of the DOE community will
be based on standards. Technical standards will formally integrate part
of all DOE facility, program and project activities. The DOE will be
recognized as a participant in the use and development of technical standards.
The
Technical Standards Program will be a benchmark for efficiency, value
and support for the DOE customer.
TOP
CITED HIGH-ENERGY PHYSICS (HEP) ARTICLES
In academic research, the number of citations of an article can provide
a useful measure of the impact of that piece of work. For better or worse,
this is often used in evaluating an individual's contribution to the field.
The SPIRES database run by a collection of HEP institutions and managed
by the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) and the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron
(DESY) has been recording the citations of high energy physics articles
since the early seventies, and now contains the citation information on
hundred of thousands of papers.
