Commonly used databases

DOE Science Research Connection - The DOE Science Research Connection (SRC) is limited to the DOE community and replaces the limited access Energy Citations Database (ECD). Offering over four million bibliographic records, SRC includes all of the information formerly found in the DOE restricted versions of the Energy Citations Database and Information Bridge, as well as other information restricted to the DOE community. In addition to combining databases, SRC offers enhanced search capability, result manipulation, and alert services. This database is restricted to DOE employees and contractors and is available at the PPPL facilities only. Users are encouraged by the DOE to create a log in for further access to restricted information.

Energy Citations Database - The Energy Citations Database (ECD) provides free access to over 2,440,000 science research citations with continued growth through regular updates. There are over 288,000 electronic documents, primarily from 1943 forward, available via the database. Citations and documents are made publicly available by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

IEEE Xplore - Full text of all IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and IEE (Institution of Electrical Engineers) journals and conferences back to 1988 with selected titles covered previous to 1988.

International Nuclear Information System (INIS) - INIS hosts one of the world's largest collections of published information on the peaceful uses of nuclear science and technology. It offers online access to a unique collection of non-conventional literature. INIS is operated by the IAEA in collaboration with over 150 members.

INSPEC - Major bibliographic database concentrating on physics, electrical and electronic engineering, information technology, computer and control systems, and manufacturing, production engineering, and information technology.

Knovel Engineering and Scientific Online References - Collection of the latest leading technical and engineering reference books. Includes ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section II - Materials

Nuclear Science Abstracts (1948-1976) Historic bibliographic database covering literature in nuclear science and technology. Abstracts and full text are provided where available.

Scopus - International coverage of journal articles, selected web sites, and patents in the sciences and social sciences; provides citation tracking for 1996+.

SPIE Digital Library - Extensive resource of information on optics and photonics, providing full-text access to technical papers from SPIE Journals and Conference Proceedings.

Web of Science - Multidisciplinary index to journal literature in the Sciences (1900+), Social Sciences (1965+), and Arts and Humanities (1975+). Offers the option to find cited references, which are the authors lists of articles used in their research.

Worldcat - Comprehensive online catalog of library holdings. Lists books, journals, maps, recordings, films, scores, and other materials located in public, academic, corporate, school and specialized libraries all over the world. Check Worldcat for holdings of material that are not available at Princeton. Available items may be requested through Interlibrary Loan.
