Substantial physics, engineering, and technological efforts are required to build,
operate and conduct research on magnetic fusion devices. Here are some ways that
organizations and individuals can work with the Laboratory.
Collaborations:
The Laboratory encourages collaborations with US and International research
organizations (laboratories, universities, etc.). This can be accomplished by
individuals working on one of our projects, our scientists participating on a research
project at another institution or DOE granting funds for an organization to build
hardware and incorporate it into one of PPPL’s projects. Funding opportunities for

Individuals interested in collaborations can contact the individuals
listed as leaders for the individual projects shown on the PPPL organization chart.

Research, Work for Others, CRADAs:
PPPL has unique facilities and capabilities (vacuum, mechanics and materials science,
electronics, computer technology, cyro, large test cells, and high-voltage power
systems). By law the Laboratory cannot compete with industry, however if you
have a unique project that might be helped by the Laboratory’s capabilities, please
contact our Technology Transfer group
