Scientific Symposium in Honor of Harold P. Furth

Professor Harold P. Furth will assume the status of Professor Emeritus this year upon his retirement. To recognize his many creative and profound contributions to plasma physics and his leadership in fusion energy research, a scientific symposium will be held in his honor at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory on June 6 and 7, 1999.

A welcome reception will be held at Prospect House on Princeton University's main campus from 6-7 p.m. on Sunday evening, June 6. The scientific symposium will take place on Monday, June 7, at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. It will be followed by a banquet at the Forrestal Hotel in the evening.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Novotel Princeton Hotel located on Route 1 and Ridge Road for June 6 and 7. The rate is $87/night and shuttle service has been arranged between the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory and the hotel. Please call the hotel directly at (609) 520-1200 to make your reservation. Ask for the "Furth Symposium" to get the special room rate. The block will be held until May 17.

Shuttle service by The Princeton Airporter at $20 each way will bring you from Newark Airport to the Novotel Princeton Hotel. Request this service at the baggage claim area level.

A registration fee of $55 will cover the reception and banquet. Guests and companions are most graciously welcome at the same fee.
