| NSTX Edge Turbulence |
|
Image of edge turbulence taken with the Princeton Scientific Instruments PSI-4 camera at 10 microsec/frame and 100,000 frames/sec during the Summer of '02. The camera is viewing HeI(587.6 nm) light from a He gas puff. The radially outward direction is to the right and the ion grad-B and ion diamagnetic directions are downward. The magnetic separatrix is near the bar labelled "5 cm". The outer limiter is the RF antenna at the right. Red-white is brightest and blue-black is dimmest in this false-color scheme. The number at the lower right is a scale factor used for normalizing the data. |
