Lower Divertor X-Point (2007)

gpi view photo of turbulence

View of the edge turbulence just above and outside the X-point region of the lower divertor in C-Mod. These images are taken in Dalpha light at 150,000 frames/sec with a Phantom 7.3 camera. The separatrix is shown by the diagonal orange line - radially outward is to the right, and the divertor floor is downward. The image contained within the box is ~ 6 cm x 6 cm.
